The Flood Localised or Global ?

Note to Reader: This post is a revamp of a discussion I had by mail with a friend . Some perceive the Noah’s flood as global, weras some see it as local. This is my support for a local view.  If you want to contribute your thoughts you are welcome to do so.

This bothered me yet I felt you were right. It dawned on me that the Mediterranean could be called a Pit (Well) when one considers the mouth at the rock of Gibraltar. Then we have a bottomless pit or deep well of water that Jonah went down into.

Jonah 2:5/6  The waters compassed me about, even to the soul: the “depth” closed me round about, the weeds were wrapped about my head.  I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me for ever: yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption, O LORD my God.

Vespasian began his campaign in Ptolemais (Acre) circ Ad67 which is a port on the Mediterranean which Josephus ascribes as being part of Judea. Now I had something logical to link your conclusion about the beast that was and is not yet is. 

Re 17:8  The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the “bottomless pit“, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

 Strangely enough it seems Noah’s flood must have been localized in that area as well because it is impossible to see a duckbilled platypus or a kangaroo hopping all the way to Australia from the ark. If the Atlantic flooded in when the well was opened by the amount of water pouring into Mediterranean basin in Noah’s day, that would explain the connection between the lost spirits and the abyss being a newly formed sea covering those ancient civilizations of Noah’s day when the beasts of the field (empires) and the trees in the Garden were covered (Kingdoms) in Gods flood Judgment for their apostasy, and the Ancient Serpent (Pharaoh) using Moses poetic description of the fall of man. 

Also the topography of the basin is mountainous which would agree with Moses’ account of the Flood. At one time the area of the Modern Suez canal was filled with water and connected the Indian Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea.

Middle East Topography

Ge 7:11  In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.

 There are two narrow points if one examines the topography, namely at Gibraltar and where the Suez Canal is today.  The Great deep is a reference to the oceans entering the hollow of the Mediterranean basin. 

When one begins to understand that although the fall is like a fairy tale to some, its format in a parabolic tale protects it from the ravages of time and future scientific discovery. It is extremely difficult to defend a story of a snake in a tree and the bite of a forbidden apple in the space age. But we must defend it at all costs for if Christ is descended from an ape, his 4000 year lineage which is traced by Luke becomes a myth. To those who think I am deluded let them read Ezekiel 31 where trees are Kingdoms and heed Christ’s words about his Kingdom being a like a seed that became a tree. 

Mt 13:31/32 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field: Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof.

Eze 28:13  Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. Eze 31:18  To whom art thou thus like in glory and in greatness among the trees of Eden? yet shalt thou be brought down with the trees of Eden unto the nether parts of the earth: thou shalt lie in the midst of the uncircumcised with them that be slain by the sword. This is Pharaoh and all his multitude, saith the Lord GOD.

It is important to recognize the poetic metaphors in the scripture, because literalism tends to cloud our understanding.

And Beasts being empires found in the conglomerate beast of Rome that swallowed up the Chaldean, Mede & Persian and the Greek and  having bodily parts of Daniels first three beasts and also their heads. Snakes do not speak nor can they offer Goddess status to Eve over a Kingdom and have its populaces worship her.

 Ge 3:1  Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

Ge 3:5  For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

Ge 3:14  And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:

The Crowned Serpent

Egypt is still a dustbowl. Pharaoh’s headgear contains two serpents and the Sphinx looked at itself approx 12500 years ago(Graham Hancock and Robert Bauval Ref: The Keeper of Genesis) . Where did Cain’s descendants acquire the technology from if not from Nod (one of the Beasts of the Field) whose populace inhabited the city he built supposedly for a handful of descendants, for most of rural Africa are still in the Stone Age today? 

Ge 4:16  And Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden.

Ge 4:17  And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he built a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch…..20  And Adah bare Jabal: he was the father of such as dwell in tents, and of such as have cattle. 21  And his brother’s name was Jubal: he was the father of all such as handle the harp and organ. 22  And Zillah, she also bare Tubalcain, an instructor of every artificer in brass and iron: and the sister of Tubalcain was Naamah.

Idolatry and Paganism and the plethora of gods in the Ancient Empires, throughout the Old Testament were taboo in the site of The Lord God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob.  Yet these mythical gods remain in history as reminder of the days of antiquity.  And now they are claiming that Southern Africa is the cradle of Humanity.

God went to great trouble to protect Christ’s Lineage, even slaying Judah’s sons and having Tamar play the Harlot. 

Never mind Jacob being disturbed by the hated Esau’s Choice of wives or his posterity’s attempt to slay Christ at his birth when they usurped the throne of David and a Edomite ruled in the Last days, which Malachi reiterates when prophesying of Christ’s appearance forerun by the Baptist Elijah.  

Also when we observe the Serpent offering Christ all the Kingdoms of the world; (Most under Rome’s dominion); which fooled the first Adam, but was entirely rejected by the second Adam.

Mat 4:7/10  Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.   Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;   And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.  Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

  And when the Roman legions became the Armies of the Angered King the Seventh trumpet proclaimed that the Kingdoms of this world have become the Kingdoms of our God and of his Christ.

Pagan mythology and Ancestral spirit worship lost their power over the Elect of God, Satan the ancient subtle beast of the field fell from his lofty sway over the nations of the World. 

Re 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceives the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. 

Re 12:6  And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.

 The infant Church fled Judea and Vespasian marched from the Coast to Jerusalem and Babylon the Mother Harlots lost her lofty throne.

The Heart of Judea

Re 18:2  And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.

Mt 24:37 /43  But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,  And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.   Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.   Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.   Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.
But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house (the temple in Ad 66-70) to be broken up.
