Luke 15:11/32 ¶ And he said, A certain man had two sons: And the younger of them said to his father, “Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me”. And he divided unto them his living.

It is interesting to note that at the younger sons prompting the father gave both sons their allotted inheritance

And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living. And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want.

The younger son here learns one of the lessons of life ,the loss of his independence. Namely I can do it all by myself in my own strength.

And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine. And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.

The result of the younger sons immaturity is a life of servitude and the loss of his status in the eyes of his fellows.

And when he came to himself, he said, “How many hired servants of my father’s have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee, And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants:”

He now reflects upon his former status, and is humbled by his own immature decisions. And makes a decision that he would rather be a servant in his Fathers household , instead of being treated like a dog under a foreign master.,living on scraps.

And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.

His return and the discovery how much love his Father reveals humbles him some more., his independent nature is completely shattered, the arrogance is lost completely in his Fathers embrace.

And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.

This unexpected response to his return, brings out all the emotions, in tears now he understands fully the folly of thinking he could go it alone.through life.

But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet: And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry: For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found.

Expecting to be disowned, the child discovers what redemption entails. Expecting judgement he receives exactly the opposite, grace and mercy. In his mind he was prepared to become a servant without any authority, yet he receives the unimaginable.A restoration of sonship. A fully empowered Son of God in his Fathers presence, clothed with the kingly garments of righteousness in his fathers sight , and the seal of newly found authority in his fathers kingdom. He can now issue decrees and seal them with the kings ring on his finger. His feet are shod with the gospel of  his Father’s Grace and Mercy. Whatever the restored son decides will be fulfilled by the servants of his Fathers Kingdom.

And they began to be merry.

A royal banquet takes place as the Younger Son is restored to throne room and seated at the Fathers right hand.

Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard music and dancing. And he called one of the servants, and asked “what these things meant”.? And he said unto him, “Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and sound.”And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out, and intreated him. And he answering said to his father, “Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends: But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf.”

The Legalistic brother’s angry response, who had disowned his own brother ,reveals his shocked discovery of the grace and mercy extended by his father to one he decided was dead in trespass and sin.

And he said unto him, “Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine. It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.”

This son of works who spent his time in the fathers fields had to discover on his return that he to should be ruling and reigning at the right hand of Father. He is reminded of his allotted inheritance by the Father , that he too has authority over the Kingdom,for dominion over all the Fathers rights are shared by the enthroned Sons and Daughters of God.

Fear mongering is often found today in Christan circles, fear of a one world Religion, fear of the Illuminati, fear of the secret socities and the supposed power they hold over the common man. Fear of a modernised electronic banking system using implanted silicon chips in their clients. These fears extend to being left behind when the imminent rapture finally arives and the great tribulation of the dispensational quacks leaves them at the mercy of a global antichrist’s meglomania. The latest is the 2012 scenario based upon a supposed translation of an ancient mayan stone calendar. Some Christians spend their lives on studying cults, prophecies,secret socities as a claim to knowing their common enemies.

My question to them is “Why dont you find out who you are first“?

Ephesians 1:18/19 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us–ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

The Apostle Paul wants your mind to be renewed into grasping  your postion in Christ and the Authority and  Power you hold in the victory of Christ.

4 ¶ Ephesians 2:4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

The first point he wants to establish in the readers mind is that God Absolutely Loves you.

Joh 3:16  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

The second point Paul wants you to grasp is the power you wield:

Joh 1:12  But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

The Third Point is whre you should be operating From;

Heb 12:22 But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.

The Book of Revelation is laid out in exactly the same manner, First the letters to the seven churches followed by John the Apostle being Caught up into the Throne Room Of God.

Re 1:11 Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches

Re 4:1  After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter

Paul wants us to occupy our position in Christ , In that we were raised up with Christ and endured with the power of God.
!. Christ is sitting in The Throne Room of God with your Spirit alongside him.
2. You Should be exercising your Authority from and in the Throne Room.

Mt 28:18  And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

Christs assertion of his Authority is that it extends to him , firstly from Heaven, secondly it is exercised and demonstrated on earth.

Paul insists that we put on Christ.    Ro 13:14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ,

Paul wrote these letters after Christ’s Ascension into Heaven, It is the Risen, Ascended, Enthroned and  Glorified Christ that you should be clothing yourself with.

1Co 12:12  For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.

This analysis examines the reasons, and estimates a timetable. We know the facts, but how to get them to people’s attention? The UN leader Ban Ki-moon has warned that many of the more distant scenarios are “happening now”. The gaseous emissions of 7 billion people, their pets and their livestock, are responsible for 23 percent of all GH emissions. Add to this the emissions from growing and distributing their food, and we can see that just being alive without any other input creates almost half of all emissions.

Therefore there is nothing we can do to stop 5oC or more. A National Risk Assessment Council is needed to prepare citizens for the changes that are coming.

Then Australians may alter their private and commercial lives with some confidence that we may be able to preserve something of civilisation in at least one part of the world. Perhaps, were we to break the process into small increments we may see it differently.

 Lets assume that rising temperature follows a regular trajectory, and lets assume that there is a one-to-one correlation between temperature rise and its consequences. Such a regular trajectory is unlikely as the combination of growing C02-e, carbon and ice-melt feedbacks, solar cycles and stronger El Niño may join with extreme weather events and global tipping points to speed up this process. Though we don’t understand many of the complexities, the simplicity of this calculation has a lot to recommend it.

 With steady linear growth the earth will be heated to 1oC by 2012, and to 2oC by 2030. Paleoclimatic evidence shows that for every 1oC rise we should expect a minimum 4-metre rise in sea levels. We have just calculated that by 2030 the conditions will be in place to guarantee a minimal 8-metre sea level rise. With the usual inertial delays of thirty years or so built into the earth’s system, and applying a regular trajectory for sea levels as we did with temperature, we could be looking at 50cm rise within a decade and a full metre during the next.

During this time large areas of agricultural land will be gradually flooded, in Egypt, Bangladesh, northern China and the Philippines. Florida, Boston and London will be badly affected, as will Melbourne and much of our coastline. Food production will be lessened as the Himalayan glaciers melt, there will be a lot less to fish and land will be lost to drought and sea. In the same period global population will rise by one billion, most living in cities.

 This is a recipe for catastrophe if we dont prepare. We are fully aware of the refugee crisis that would follow such sea-level rise, and the likelihood that there wuld be war. However we vary the parameters, this process shows we have run out of time and should prepare now for what cannot be prevented if we wish to preserve a planet similar to that on which civilisation developed and to which life on earth is adapted. A National Risk Assessment Council is needed to prepare citizens for the changes that are coming.

It is needed now.

A few months ago I had an impression that if  Climate change is warming the planet, then the inside must be getting hotter as well. It reminded me of boiling an egg , what was once inside the shell in a liquid form now became solid.  The Earth at present is suffering what I would metaphorical call a boiled egg syndrome.

Yesterday the local TV news mentioned that a volcano in the galapgos islands was erupting , this linked with the recent quakes in Italy reminded of  my boiled egg syndrome,

Today I found proof of what intuition had shown me. The link below is to a article posted some time back on CBS News.

“Unless the problem of global warming (the problem of persistent thermal imbalance of Earth) is addressed urgently and comprehensively – the rapid increase in global seismic, volcanic and tectonic activity is certain. Consequences of inaction can only be catastrophic. There is no time for half-measures.”

The modern Church is fast adopting an unsustainable lifestyle, with its accent on materialism at the expense of the environment.  This distinction between the first world of oppulence and the third world eeking out an existence, is  soon forgotten. Yet everything we consume requires the effort of others. The denuding of  forests and jungles for our ease and comfort is turning into a judgement, due to our neglect of the environment.

Sometimes I wonder if  the modern preachers who are so busy gathering greenbacks in large cities all over the world , to buy fancy motor cars and  aeroplanes , and even huge auditoriums even think of the cost to the planet.

The next generation if they still have some forests and wildlife instead of TV sets and all the modern paraphanalia available to them will condemn the greed and expensive lifestyles that are being advocated today.

What will it take to  arouse them from the folly of oppulence at the expence of everthing else?   Sterile megacities filled with tar and concrete cannot sustain themselves without  those who supply the produce and the meats that adorn their tables.

Jer 18:18  Then said they, Come, and let us devise devices against Jeremiah; for the law shall not perish from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophet. Come, and let us smite him with the tongue, and let us not give heed to any of his words.

If we close our ears to the warnings of others , we become blind guides leading the blind.

Re 3:19  As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

Calculations show that dangerous levels of global warming cannot now be avoided. The life-style changes needed internationally are so wide-reaching that effective and immediate action is unlikely. As Australia is one of the few countries that can survive, we should prepare now for the inevitable. Ethical issues will distort our responses for years to come if we fail to address them now.
